Our Manifesto

What We Believe

The standards that guide every word on this site. No hidden agendas. No bought reviews. No fine print that contradicts the headline.

We Believe

Local golf deserves better than a forgotten directory listing.

Most golf information about Beckley and Beaver is scattered across outdated directories and generic travel sites. We exist because local golfers deserve a real resource built by people who actually live and play here.

A beginner should never feel stupid for asking what a driver is.

Golf has a reputation for being intimidating. We think that reputation is earned by bad explanations, not by the game itself. Every beginner guide on this site is written by someone who remembers being confused.

Honest information is worth more than a thousand affiliate clicks.

Short-term commissions matter less than long-term trust. If we lose a sale by telling you the truth, we've done our job. The readers who stay are worth more than the clicks we lose.

We Refuse

We refuse every free product.

If a manufacturer sends us gear, we disclose it or decline it. A free product changes the reviewer's eye, even when we don't want it to. We'd rather buy our own and keep our judgment clean.

We refuse paid placements.

No course, brand, or advertiser can buy a spot in our recommendations. If we say something is worth your money, it's because our reviewers believe it after using it.

We refuse fake urgency.

We will never tell you a product is about to sell out just to make you click. If a deal is real and time-limited, we'll say so honestly. Otherwise, you can take your time deciding.

How This Site Makes Money

We earn a commission when you buy through some links on this site. It costs you nothing extra. The commission comes from the retailer, not from your pocket.

This does not change our recommendations. If a product isn't good enough, we say so — and we don't link to it. We've turned down thousands in potential commissions by being honest about what not to buy.

If you read a review and wonder whether the commission influenced it, ask yourself one question: does the review name real flaws? If it does, the commission didn't buy the conclusion. If it doesn't, we didn't write it.

Our Promises to You

We write what we see. Course conditions, prices, and product performance are reported from real experience, not press releases.

We say when we don't know. If we can't verify something, we tell you. We will never invent test data or pretend to have used something we haven't.

We correct our mistakes openly. If we get something wrong, we update the article and say what changed. We don't quietly edit and hope nobody noticed.

We keep this site human. The voices here are real people with real opinions. We will never replace them with faceless AI-generated filler.
